Washington has a handful of different species of salmon, all of which migrate once they are born. They then return to the same stream that they were born in. If you go to Ballard Locks, you can actually view the salmon swimming upstream, and you may even get to watch some of the predators in the area hunting for dinner! Make sure you go to Issaquah Salmon Hatchery and check out the salmon swimming and hopping around. It’s an amazing sight to see.

The Wild West in Winthrop

If you are a fan of cowboy movies, Winthrop is the destination for you! Located beyond the Cascade Mountains, Winthrop is a wild west town that is fun for the whole family. While you’re there you can enjoy horseback riding, fishing, birding or simply going for a scenic drive. This town will make you feel like you’ve stumbled into another time—that is filled with friendly people!

Olympic Game Farm

Have you ever wanted to see beautiful wild animals up close? If so, you’ll want to check out Olympic Game Farm. They have a wide array of different animals, including: llamas, deer, bison, zebras and bears! The friendlier animals are allowed to roam free—meaning you may have an up-close experience from the comfort of your car. Seattle
